Straits Settlements Neo Classical Style Achitectural Houses

George Coleman was a Neo-Classical Style architect. He worked with Sir Stamford Raffles on the first town plans of Singapore 1822. He designed a few neo-classical styled buildings in Singapore that survived till today. One of them is the St Gregory Armenien Church (1835), located at the corner of Victoria and Coleman Street and the other is Caldwell House, located further down the Victoria Street at the corner of Bras Basah Road - in the vicinity of CHIJMES.
